Washed crushed sand (washed M-sand) for plaster – washed to remove most of the dust and fine silt. Not river sand. Delivered to sites across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Panvel.
About the material
Our washed sand is crushed stone sand that has been washed – the trade calls it washed M-sand or plaster sand. Crushing leaves fine stone dust; washing rinses much of it out, along with fine silt. That matters for plaster, where IS 1542 holds sand to tighter dust and clay limits than concrete sand. It is not river or natural sand.
✓ Internal and external plaster
✓ Ceiling plaster
✓ Fine concrete work, if the grading fits an IS 383 zone
✓ Not needed for most concrete and blockwork – use crushed sand

Key properties
Plaster is a thin coat, so dust and clay in the sand show up as cracks and weak spots.
Washing rinses out much of the stone dust and silt that crushing leaves behind.
IS 1542 limits clay, silt and dust in plaster sand to 5% by weight.
IS 1542 plaster sand is fine: 95–100% passes 2.36 mm and 80–100% passes 600 microns.
Washing also removes soluble salts, which cause white efflorescence on walls.
Wet sand weighs more per brass and bulks by volume, so allow for it.
Our washed sand is crushed stone sand, washed. We don't sell river sand.
Which sand?
Different jobs, different standards – and different tests, so the dust limits aren't directly comparable.
Concrete, blockwork, masonry mortar.
IS 383 (concrete), IS 2116 (mortar).
IS 383 Zones I–IV.

Quality checks on site
Quick checks anyone on site can do. The IS limits are lab tests by mass.
Shake a cupful of sand with water in a clear bottle and let it settle. After washing, the fine layer on top should be thin.
Rub damp sand between your palms. Washed sand shouldn't leave a sticky, muddy smear.
Fine and even, with no chips over about 4.75 mm (IS 1542: 95–100% passes 4.75 mm).
Washed sand may arrive damp. Damp sand bulks, so allow for it if you batch plaster by volume.

FAQs
Why is sand washed for plaster?
Crushing leaves fine stone dust. Concrete sand can carry up to 15% material finer than 75 microns under IS 383, but plaster sand is held to tighter limits: IS 1542 allows no more than 5% clay, silt and dust. So crushed sand is washed for plaster work.
Can I use washed sand for concrete too?
Yes, if its grading fits an IS 383 zone. For most concrete and blockwork, unwashed crushed sand is the usual choice. Tell us the job and we'll advise.
Is your washed sand river sand?
No. It's crushed stone sand (M-sand) that has been washed. We don't sell river sand.
Why does washed sand cost more?
Washing is an extra step after crushing, so washed sand is priced above normal crushed sand. Call for today's delivered rate.
What is the washed sand rate per brass?
We don't publish a fixed price for each material. Delivered rates are indicatively ₹3,000–₹6,000 per brass across our materials (October 2026), depending on delivery distance, quality and type of material. Call or WhatsApp for today's delivered rate for your site.
