Khadi (crushed stone aggregate) in every size from 6mm to 40mm – all VSI-crushed – delivered to sites across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Panvel. Sold by brass or tonne, with a GST invoice on every load.
About khadi
Khadi is crushed stone aggregate: hard stone crushed and screened into sizes, mostly retained on the 4.75 mm sieve (the coarse aggregate in IS 383). On Mumbai sites it goes by local names – metal 1 for 10mm, metal 2 for 20mm, grit for 6mm and khadi sand for crushed sand. All our khadi is VSI-crushed, so the pieces come out well-shaped rather than flaky.
✓ RCC slabs, beams, columns and footings (20mm, with 10mm)
✓ PCC, mass concrete and floor base concrete (40mm)
✓ Rough-cast plaster finishes (6mm grit)
✓ Precast work and blocks (6mm, 10mm)
✓ Base work and soling (kapchi)
Sizes: 6mm (grit), 10mm (metal 1), 20mm (metal 2), 30mm, 40mm
Process: VSI-crushed, then screened
Fines (finer than 75 µm): ≤1% (IS 383, crushed coarse aggregate)
Clay lumps: ≤1% (IS 383)
Flaky + elongated: ≤40% combined (IS 383)
Sold by: brass or tonne · minimum 6 brass (or 25 tonnes)
Rate: indicative ₹3,000–₹6,000 per brass across materials (Oct 2026)
These are the limits in the standards – what to ask for – not test results for a particular load.
Why order khadi from us
One call covers every size your site needs, from fine grit to 40mm.
6mm grit, 10mm (metal 1), 20mm (metal 2), 30mm and 40mm khadi, plus crushed sand.
Every size comes off a VSI line for well-shaped, less flaky stone. What VSI means →
20 mm suits most RCC, 10 mm thin or congested sections, and 40 mm where concrete flows freely.
1 brass = 100 cu ft ≈ 2.83 m³ – roughly 4–5.5 tonnes depending on the material and how wet it is; for an exact weight, ask for the weighbridge slip.
₹3,000–₹6,000 per brass across our materials (Oct 2026), by distance, quality and type. Call for today's rate.
We work 24/7, with same-day delivery available across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Panvel.
Size chooser
Your engineer's drawing or mix design decides the size. This is the usual match on Mumbai sites.
Khadi sand, crush sand, M-sand. Concrete and blockwork (IS 383 zones); washed for plaster. Crushed sand → · Washed sand →
Rough-cast finishes (IS 2402 uses 6–12 mm stone) and very thin precast. Not an IS 383 size. 6mm khadi →
Thin sections, closely spaced bars and precast; often blended with 20mm. 10mm khadi →
The everyday RCC size for columns, beams, footings and slabs (IS 456: suits most work). 20mm khadi →
40mm for PCC, mass concrete and floor base concrete where nothing restricts the flow; 30mm is a trade size. 40mm khadi →
Broken stone for soling, hard core and base work – not concrete aggregate. Kapchi →
Quality checks on site
Quick checks anyone on site can do. Lab tests to IS 2386 are what the standards use.
Pick up a handful. Most pieces should match the size you ordered, with no stray oversize chips or soil lumps.
Flaky means thinner than about 0.6× the piece's size; elongated means longer than about 1.8×. A handful shouldn't be mostly flat slivers.
No soil, roots, coal bits, mica flakes or shells – IS 383 lists these as harmful.
Measure the truck body (length × width × height in feet ÷ 100 = brass) or ask for the weighbridge slip on tonne orders.

FAQs
Which khadi size is used for a slab?
Usually 20mm (metal 2), since IS 456 says 20 mm suits most work, often blended with 10mm (metal 1) where bars are close or the slab is thin. Your engineer's mix design decides.
Should I order khadi by brass or by tonne?
Either. A brass is a volume and a tonne is a weight: 1 brass = 100 cu ft ≈ 2.83 m³ – roughly 4–5.5 tonnes depending on the material and how wet it is; for an exact weight, ask for the weighbridge slip.
What is the khadi rate per brass?
We don't publish a fixed price for each material. Delivered rates are indicatively ₹3,000–₹6,000 per brass across our materials (October 2026), depending on delivery distance, quality and type of material. Call or WhatsApp for today's delivered rate for your site.
What is VSI khadi, and is all your khadi VSI?
VSI stands for vertical shaft impactor, a crusher that shapes stone by rock-on-rock impact. Yes – all our khadi is VSI-crushed. More on VSI khadi.
Where and how fast do you deliver khadi?
Across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Panvel, 24/7, with same-day delivery available. The minimum order is 6 brass (or 25 tonnes). Mumbai drops follow the city's heavy-vehicle timings.
What else is khadi called?
Stone khadi, crushed stone or metal. 10mm is metal 1 (also 10mm crushed stone), 20mm is metal 2 and 6mm is grit. Crushed sand is sometimes called khadi sand.
